Do MTN *have* any agents?

I've been trying to contact mtn's customer care via 173 to try to sort out an airtime/bundle issue (see the other post of mine, aptly entitled "mtn gprs is driving me insane").

173 is dismal. Firstly, you have to select your language - and when you do, if it's not your first call of the day, you get told that you can't change your language more often than every 24 hours. Firstly, why not?! And more importantly, if you gave me another option I wouldn't have to keep reselecting my language!

Half the time I get disconnected at this point when I press 1. Eventually I get to the options menu, press 5, and again, half the time I get disconnected.

Sometimes I'm lucky enough to actually get to the point where I get the message "all our agents are busy. please continue holding and your call will be answered as soon as an agent is available"... except that that *never* happens. Do they actually *have* any agents? And do they work outside of office hours? I gave up a 30 minutes, which I understand is not exactly a record, but this was after a 15 minute call earlier, and a 10 minute call yesterday and another 15 minute call the day before....

Aaaarrrgggh! There is *no way* that I'd ever take out a contract with mtn.

Actually with contracts you should get better service :o

Have you tried visiting your nearest MTN shop? They have no where to hide when you rock up to their offices.............

Only way i get through to an operator on 173 is to not do anything, dont select ANY option, when all the options have been read you eventually go through to a call-waiting helpdesk [which in my case have been answered surprisingly fast] . The #5 data option never got me anywhere before and the helpdesk using that option never get answered.
