As the title states.

And i mean any and all FIAT's. Cars are generally a k@k investment, but a fiat takes the cake. I am sure there are just as worthless cars out there but the missus has a Fiat Panda we were looking at trading in for something better (not the Rio deal) and settlement is R65K and nobody is offering more than R30 to R40k trade. Yassus, what a ***** car value wise. Anyways, i have made a thread, so nobody can say they weren't warned.

I can +1 this. Had a Fiat Palio with non stop issues, and terrible re-sell value.

My girlfriend has a 500, no problems with the car, just absolutely terrible service from the dealer! From buying the thing, to numberplate issues, to ordering a new key. The list goes on.

Carbon copy of what happened when i bought my wife the panda.

Also had a Fiat Panda 4x4 for 7 years, had about 80000km on the clock, sold it for 35k

Never had any issues with the car though.

That's not even a joke though.
I was in the fiat uno plant before.
G-clamps to hold body panels together for spot welding.

I can add my own tale of woe to this one.

We only recently discovered ours is a "special edition" car, and because of that, have difficulty in procuring engine components

It's the engine I hate, the rest of the car is fine. if I had a big enough budget, I would seriously consider ripping the engine/gearbox out and replacing these with a different brand (toyota etc).

Took them around 3 months to get me a key for the thing. When it came it was cut incorrectly, and without the key code card thing that was ordered with the key (that programs the key) - took an extra 3 weeks

My wife's key got stolen. Ordered a replacement from insurance. Got the quote and everything. Took about 2 months, it arrived and wouldn't work. So took it back to them, and they said it needed to be coded for another R900. Went bat crazy and they coded it for free.

Her car is 3 years old in September, 50,000km's on the clock and best we been offered is R40k.

That's crazy, I'd rather keep it for another 3 years then.

PS.... I sold mine privately , dealers then to rip you off.

I have a Fiat bakkie. The dealership service is very disappointing. Was so glad when the warranty expired and I could take it to an independent mechanic for services.

New: 103,000
Trade: 69,500
Retail: 78,200

Yup - we sell them, and 30 behind book is what they trade for. :(

We no longer keep Panda, Punto or any Alfa model on the floor any more because sales are so low - so you don't have to warn people - they aren't buying them anyway!! :p
