Hi all

I'm travelling to South Africa to shoot a short amatuer documentary and doing video blogs on the way (on youtube.com).

Now obviously I don't live there (anymore), so I'll need to use a wireless connection as I travel to upload the video Blogs, I'm thinking either of using Vodacom or MTN (mtn seems like better prepaid value).

Do they count uploads? I'm hoping they don't.

Thanks guys!

Yes Dghough91, I am sorry to say that both upload and download count towards yours cap.

So in essance they are capping the person who downloads as well as the person who uploads.

Oh, I see.

Pitty. Oh well, I'm sure I'll find another way of putting them up, even if it means dialup :)

If you are travelling around SA, I dont think you can be guarenteed a dialup point.

Are you planning on staying in a hotel? If so they charge a nice premium for internet access there.

Yeah, I'll have to make a plan.

I'll be staying in a hotel some of the time, but the rest of the time I'll be staying with family.

Yea, as internet cafes are quite expensive, or where i live they tend to be asking up to R60/hour

Upload speeds on HSDPA is currently limited to 128 kbps AFAIK. So that would be too slow for you I'd think. Internet CAFE's are probably the best bet.

 I thought v3g posted a while back that Vodacom's HSDPA upload speed had been increased to the max of 384kbits/s...?
