It surprises me to read up on all the SA players we have doing high level raiding i.e. BT & Sunwell.
Some of the guys in my guild (SA only) have been there from the start. We moved over from the BF2 servers and have been playing WoW ever since. The older chaps each have about 3-4 lvl 70s and have been jamming since vanilla wow.
Now my question is this, how does you guild prepare itself for 25 man raids? Gear wise and tactically?
We're a casual guild, but our top dogs know every little detail about every boss we ever fight. So they obviously do their homework thoroughly. Yet, the only raid our guild's finished is Karazhan, which we run weekly in 2 groups. They have attempted ZA but I don't think it's finished. We have about 23 active lvl 70s (38 in total, but spread across 23 accounts) and the average IMBA rating is +- 200 ( http://be.imba.hu/ ) which clearly reckons we're more than ready for end of ZA and we'd cream gruul/mags.
Some of our guys do stealth runs through instances to only fight the bosses for badges, which is used to gear up and we BG alot as well.
Is there something we're missing? Because it seems the old boys are being kept behind by the young ones while they get their gear ready. It's gotten to such a stage where I've only done Kara 5 or so times and already I'm fully kitted out and require no more drops aside from the odd ring/trinket.
Is there a method to our madness or are we somehow missing the plot?
Since everyone's going to be leveling like crazy I doubt very much that there's going to be much time left to hit the harder raids and rather head straight for lvl 80.
