Do we overvaccinate our pets?

Thoughts? (note I am not an anti-vaxxer). My vet says no more vaccs for my two older cats and only every three years for the two younger ones. Even the SAVC's guidelines state every 3 years. Unfortunately, most boarding kennels insist on annual vaccs plus snuffles/kennel cough. The holistic vet I sometimes use says she has found with titre testing for rabies, some animals are over 7 times the limit of what's safe.

I have also thought about it for a while.

The dogs I buy from breeders with bloodlines and the likes are so soft to getting sick. I have lost numerous dogs to the most bizarre illnesses like "Cat Griep" and the likes. These are dogs I pay a pretty penny for and make sure they get all their injections. Then we have had these "stoep skuiter" dogs from time to time. Real pavement special dogs and since we get them for free I don't really bother with injections and the likes.

They just never get sick or die.

Weird I tell you... weird.

I agree. Yeah all my expensive pedigrees get sick and die of weird things and the ones I rescue are tough as nails.
