As the title suggests, do you like to customize or keep it mostly stock?

If you like to customize what customization do you do?

I like to keep my phone mostly stock (coming from iPhone). I find it mostly annoying going through so many menus and just want the experience streamlined.

I basically just setup my home screen (move apps where I want them, wallpaper etc) using the stock launcher and use custom ringtones for different apps.

Most people I know that use Android do almost no customization and even keep the stock ringtones and stock wallpaper.

EDIT:
ADDED A POLL

Customize with root...

I simply love to tinker, love to alter the state of my device to suit my needs, both operationally and aesthetically.

Custom launchers are a unique way to keep your phone relevant, fresh and exciting.

I currently alternate between Lawnchair, Niagara, Squarehome (favourite), Nova and OxygenOS (system default).

Everyone of these launchers offers something unique.

So, as good as the OnePlus 7T Pro (running Android 12) is out the box, root and customizing adds another layer of usability and appeal.

Installed with root:
1.) call recorder - works brilliantly, records incoming and outgoing calls
2.) Viper4Android - boost and/or customize the sound profile of your phone. If you enjoy music on your device, this is a must.
3.) Gcam modules - OnePlus native camera app is mediocre at best, the results I get off of a custom Gcam camera module is quite remarkable
4.) Icon Pack Studio - for custom icon packs, make your own or utilize what the community has made already. Icon packs for every taste, brilliant app
5.) As mentioned earlier, custom launchers. The single most significant change you can make. A launcher like Niagara or Squarehome, fundamentally changes how you interact with your device.

I used to do all that when I was younger but now I find it very cumbersome to do.
It was fun at the the time but now I just need a device that works well, consistently and with an easy workflow.

I do however like to use my device for downloading Torrents and using modded paid apps (get premium features for free). So basically it is a piracy device.

Mostly stock. Just enable dark mode (AMOLED display) and group a few things into folders.

back in the day it was fun to get a 2 or 3 year old device to run the latest version by rooting and running Cyanogenmod and so on.

Now, not so much.

main "mods" (but not really) are dark mode/theme, adguard, Nicelock,, one hand Operation +, Revanced and switch up my launcher every now and then.

These are enough for me

I use another launcher, with settings saved to the cloud. When I get a new phone, the first thing I install is the launcher, followed by restoring the settings. Work continues seamlessly. I have 70 icons and a widget on my home screen.
