Do you display your qualifications ?

The quality of his work and his reputation is proof enough of what he has.

And... you are suppose to list these kind of things if application in the proposal or tender not on your like some achievement whore* imho.

*Disclaimer: nothing wrong with achievements, but I may frown if you need the epeen on the wall ;)

I have decent qualifications :)

I just do not see the purpose.
I know I obtained them, so why should they be on the wall? To remind me? Then I might as well frame my ID book to remind me who I am :)

I think if there were more innovative ways of displaying it, more people would be interested. It mostly framed in a very conservative and traditional way.

For many people, the work place is a competitive environment, so most professionals market themselves continuously.

:D

Well you're supposed to list those things on those proposals anyways. But then you do list them.
No need to remind everyone every day of what your accomplishments are.

Very proud of mine, had to make loads of sacrifices to obtain them undergraduate and postgraduate.

Used to hang them, think I should stop being lazy and hang them up again

However... in my case I might need to throw up an epeen of english ;)

A lot of people have diplomas / degrees.
Not many have them with distinction. ;)

Nope, there are 2 paintings of nudes, and a couple other framed paintings on my walls, way more interesting to look at than any certificate lol.

These days it's not as common, no.
Lol, everyone in my family has cum laude written all over their degrees [under and post grad]. I'm only missing mine because I transferred from a university and exemptions disqualify me from a cum laude.

We receive framed long service certificates, I hang those on my cubicle walls (where else do we put it?)...don't want that crap at home.

I guess it isn't really a qualification.

Office:
2 "walls" of windows (yay, natural light!)
1 wall of bookshelves
1 wall left where the TV set is mounted!

Ergo, even if I wanted to display my "stuff" (which I don't), there ain't no space!

I have a 2 qualifications and am part of professional body, funny thing is I love not showing it as from time to time there are people who assume certain things about you based on a perceived notion that they are better, more educated or smarter than you.

I take great pride in watching how wrong assumptions can be, especially in meetings.

So, for me, they are in draws somewhere at home and still in their cone holder of sorts.

For me a person looks like douche trying to compensate for something unless its industry standard. If I don't see a degree on my doctors wall then I'm going to stress, but if another developer tries to display his qualifications in the office, then I'm going to call him out for being a douchebag.

And yes, I have tertiary qualifications that I'm proud of but these are filed away.

I dont think Ive ever walked into someones office and thought they were pretentious or a douche for putting their qualifications on the wall. In fact, I often read them with some interest as it gives me more insight into that person.

So interesting how different people react to this type of thing. Some react positively, others react negatively.

Mine, my brother's and my father's qualifications are hanging on the walls of my parents' study.
