Do you display your qualifications ?

Do you frame your degree, diploma, certificate or the little gold star you got in creche and put it up for everyone to see?

I am curious about people's attitudes towards this.

Ours are either lost, or somewhere in a file, definitely not displayed.

Obviously wasn't much to begin with :p

I have decent qualifications :)

I just do not see the purpose. I know I obtained them, so why should they be on the wall? To remind me? Then I might as well frame my ID book to remind me who I am :)

I think if there were more innovative ways of displaying it, more people would be interested. It mostly framed in a very conservative and traditional way.

My mom used to hang hers in the study when we were kids.... I always thought of it as something really great to achieve.

My wife and I hang ours up now at our house, those degrees amount to 14 years of our lives (I was slow, she is a doctor).
Hopefully our kids will look at them and aspire to do as well, neither of her parents got the chance to get a degree and my dad didn't finish his.

Its a daily reminder of how something that seems impossible can be achieved with perseverance... also I think its a waste to just hide it in the drawer.

I dont think Ive ever walked into someones office and thought they were pretentious or a douche for putting their qualifications on the wall. In fact, I often read them with some interest as it gives me more insight into that person.

So interesting how different people react to this type of thing. Some react positively, others react negatively.

Same here. I always admire the certificates, and notice how they are all designed differently. My UCT undergrad is very bare, whereas my colleagues degree is full of fancy lettering and flourishes.

My degree is nicely framed, laying in my cupboard at home. I have enough office wall space, but hanging up qualifications is just not done at my work place. Maybe at my next job I will display it.

Mine go into a plastic bag then into a file and are left in a cool dark place for future reference.

Between my husband and I there are 6 degrees including LLBs and Masters and a gazillion other certificates from the Law Society. I think it it's pretty decent but not worth framing and hanging on the wall ;)

ALways tought you were a dude.Congrats! Im sure you have found something that pays better or enjoy more than you got out of law, otherwise eish.

I have no office, just space at a desk for my PC and 3 drawers. So the issue is moot for me. :) Although if I had a wall, I probably wouldn't put them up - that's what linkedin is for.

Psssht :p takes more to impress me :D

Actual diplomas or degrees from real universities are something to be proud of and should be put up, even if you are the only one who sees them. But little baby certificates and things - not really impressive.

Hanging certificates reminds family and friends that you may or may not have money to borrow :D

Yep, have my degree hanging on my wall above my desk.

It's nice to every now and then sit back, put my feet on the desk and say "yes, that's mine".

Then again it is still new and the novelty might wear off one day but for now I enjoy seeing it everyday.

Not a fan of false modesty, so I'm not going to hid it somewhere and pretend it isn't something important.
