Girlfriend, Boyfriend, Husband, Wife, other. .... Do you have fights?

Verbal, Physical, Silence treatment?

My wife and I never fight. Never have. I've upset her a few times with tactless comments but we never fight.

Firstly I think your a very lucky man!

Secondly, My Wife and I do argue now and then but the making up part is always the best. Being Catholic, I went on a weekend away called "an engaged encounter" before I got married. Dont knock it though, It was actually a lot of fun and my Wife and I learnt a lot about each other (Its pretty much Pre-Marraige Counciling in a big group)

Anyway, I'll never forget one of the councillors told us all that, we need to realise that at first everything is all happy and lovely, But reality will kick in sometime and if any of us thought we would never have a fight... we should reconsider marraige, since it would happen.. How you get through it though, is what is important

My other half and I do fight. We are both very strong willed people and very assertive and both used to having our own way. No physicality though, I abhore the thought. We have even walked out on each other a couple of times bt you know what Life without him is worse. We are I am pleased to say learning through each bad experience what the good boundaries are and how to respect them, and what the bad barriers are and how to break them down, and we are working on our combined strengths and learning to celebrate our differences.

Not to say we don't piss each other off still, but the difference is the way we are dealing with this now!

Fighting as in argue is crucial to a healthy relationship as long as there's a resolution. It's unhealthy when both parties leave the room sulking and building resentments towards each other.

I actually read a quote today by Sigmund Freud a few minutes after this post today.. it read as follows and I thought it was really appropriate.

"Yes I have had a few words with my wife before... she gave me a few paragraphs back though"

I wish our country could follow those basic principals.

We argue slightly but very seldom. Usually 10 minutes or less. Faster if whichever one of us is being silly realises it quickly :D

Just remembered something that they told us at the engaged encounter I went on.

"When you and your partner have and arguement.. and it will happen. Take off all your clothes and sit down and try continue. You'll soon both burst out laughing and realise how stupid it is"

imho:
when fight or misunderstanding approaches, take one deep breath frist and at all times try to keep 100% calm. then if possible try to workout why you ended up in this misunderstanding/aurgument in first place.

yes i get them, best is to work through them.

they are part of relationships, mostly it would seem that other people you know never have them and have perfectionism, but trust me they do.

She's intelligent. She's waiting for the opportune moment to bring all the past **** up... just wait, she's bottling everything up. Once you do something REALLY stupid she'll let you have it.

I'd recommend searching the place for documents that have your "wrong-doings" documented. She might take them to a lawyer first and before you know it you're served with papers and thinking "Wtf did I do wrong, we never fight!"

Women are like that, go figure

Yeah me and my other half to have arguments, as we are both stubborn and strong willed ,but they not to bad, I think its healthy to have a arguments every now and then keeps things open and honest.

me and my GF, fight quite a lot, but i find it helps us more :)

we have big arguments usually that end in us not talking for a day or two :)

Broke up with my girlfriend of a 4yr old relationship 2yrs ago because i couldn't handle our differences. Now i can't seem to find someone i like, think she was better but also frustrates the most... This is where people tend to return to their old relationships because they think they can't find better ones than their pasts. I have tried going back to her, but what you argued about 2 years back you likely to find it still, maybe even worse this time around. I think the resolution of sorting out differences lies on the individual. I should learn to leave with the different she is that trying to change her. If i can't, then walk away cause that difference its unlikely to change unless (s)he sees it as a threat himself/herself...

Relationship threads....

Me and the Misses fight often, we're engaged... I'm gonna wait till the fighting is more sensible before we marry.
From the above list we fight Verbally, silence treatment the most
Then like yesterday, physically:eek: she choked me

Thing is i cant figure out wheter she means to hurt me or not  Its like your little brother would hit grab kick you??!! Thats why i do nothing it seems kinda harmless but i dont know if its as hard as she can hit and i'm just physically bigger stronger so it doesnt hurt. If she is trying to hurt me then thats not on but i'm not sure!! :o
We dont stay mad for long though few minutes maybe half an hour tops
