If you are talking about FLOPS, what do you actually do with the computations in real life situations? Even though Intel has double that of AMD.

I'm a software engineer that has had some math heavy home projects. I go for Intel for my home PC, and also for my work setup because of this (desktop is 2x 8 cores, and our cluster is Intel).

AMD Ryzen 1700 in my main work machine as there is nothing with better value for what I do with the machine.

Intel 6700k in my HTPC/Gaming build. Built this a while back and 6700k was the fastest gaming CPU at the time.

AMD for me and all my rigs since like 2006. Yeah the bulldozer years were meh but right now my R7 1700 @4GHz eats just about everything else alive

MY BLOOD IS RED. MY RIG IS GREEN. DON'T MENTION THE COGNITIVE DISSONANCE PLEASE

Intel since forever. Never owned an AMD. All my cellphones is probably some form or version of ARM

Intel i7-6600U for Work
Intel i7-4700MQ for home...as per my signature

Would love to get a Ryzen though...my Athlon XP 2400+ was the sh*t back in the days

Have just built a Threadripper 1900x for my gaming rig, and moved my Intel Corei5 into a mining rig

Intel because everything was bought before Ryzen. I just care about the performance/price, don't really care who, though I'll probably pick AMD if it's quite close as they're the smaller company and Intel has done a lot of dodgy stuff.
