No, but I want one.

I don't have the money at the moment and the need isn't yet pressing for what I will be doing with it.

Yes.

Three of them. Original FDM, given a second hand custom FDM and I just bought a Resin.

Reason, hobbies and relaxation. Ability to tinker, do CAD, make models to paint or create electronics/robotics, make s*** that I can't find in stores to solve a particular problem!

I have one, Creality Ender-5 Pro, but loadshedding has kinda halted printing big projects....

I love it, being able to tinker with electronics and make your own enclosures for one is great.

Being able to cad + 3d printer makes a world of difference. I think a lot of people buy one and get bored of printing trinkets.

Yes, I have an Ender 6 that I moded only slightly but works great. Found SBS from Fil-X about a year ago and absolutely love printing with it.

Sadly most of my prints lately has been cookie cutters for my better half

For practical , functional prints I have the options of Kids Toys ( especially the random crap they watch on youtube ie: Rainbow friends etc ) and for the wifes baking business: cookie cutters, cake toppers etc.

Really want to get into gear and cogs, reading up on that, mechanical design. Also custom electronics, ie cases and what not.

A 3D printer is a tinkerers wet dream.

Ah yes I forgot about cake toppers. And stencils for the royal icing cookies.

On the one hand getting my wife a cults3d account was one of the best things Ive ever done, because now I dont have to explain when I spend ZARs on my printer. On the other hand, I really wish I could choose what I print more often

Get another one.... :p .....printer that is, one wife is expensive enough already.

I want one lol. I have so many things to prototype for my car. Just sent a few spacers to printer this morning

Quite useful for making replacement parts that can then be cast in aluminium if it needs to be more durable.

Cookie cutters as well.

Did not get one when DIY had a special on BF2020. Did not get one on the subsequent F/Y end sale in 2021. Did not get one on the BF2021. Finally gave in to the itch for Xmas 2021 sale. Opened it about 5 months later (interim illness and loss in family) to a OOB failure which was fixed under warranty.

I have spent so many years as a mindless consumer of things, I think the step to being creative is welcome. There are so many inspiring and creative designs out there, and even if I copy and tweak - it has a positive effect.
