I assume that too.. but if I want to get technical a regular harddrive is usually sold as an "internal drive" regardless of whether it's used internally or not.

Lots - RAW images take up a huge amount of space. Mainly powerboat racing and motorsport images going back years.
If you mastered JPGs you wouldn't use up nearly as much space.
And FWIW raw isn't an acronym so there's no need to capitalise it.
