Do you personally know someone still using Dial-up?

Having seen vodacoms adsl pricing, maybe they still offer dialup too...

No. Actually scratch that...our office laptops are configured to allow dial-up as a last resort. Never heard of anyone using it...but its configured with dialup accounts etc.

Can you still get dialup?
Yes. Its popular with the business recovery okes for some reason. Much like the US medical okes use beepers instead of more modern tech...beepers won't go down even if everything else goes to sht.

I'm pretty sure mweb also still has a pile of people paying for dial-up contracts that they forgot about...

I don't know about just over a decade ago but even 5 years ago it was still in rather high use. Must still be a market for it though with almost every major isp still offering it.

Not personally.

Does anyone know of a way to throttle an ADSL connection to 56k? (humor me)

Would like to compare my daily browsing habits on ADSL vs dial-up speed.
