Do you personally know someone still using Dial-up?

We use it for communicating with embedded controllers in machinery. This is for diagnostics and updates.

We use it too, extensively, in embedded systems.
These days though, we use GPRS modems, but still dial-up connection in Windows.

I still have a dial up account even though we haven't had landlines for years. Just won't bother changing my email account.
 
AT&T has a link through a US Robotics 56K modem at one of the clients I work at, but they only use this when the WAN link dies.

Other than that I know of an older lady at my old work who still uses one (she is a client as well)
 
There are days that I can only wish for dailup speeds on my broadband connection. :-(
 
I know of a few people (all way over the age of 21) here in Stilbaai who still have dial-up internet access. Well, I say internet access but none of them use 'the internet' they all use 'email' and so, dial-up sort of does the job. For around R79 per month, they get an email address and (on the right calling plan) the call is free.

For these people, dial-up internet is as high-tech as they wish (or indeed, need) to go!
 
We have some clients still on dial-up...
Mostly old people that are content with their connectivity, They basically just connect
download emails,reply and basic web browsing.
