Not so long as I need to wear a watermelon on my head. When it's implants, sure.

never, technology is too clunky and needs too many things for it to be practical.
power, weight, GPU, cords and noise.

if it becomes like an contact lens with everything shown there, then maybe,

Yes eventually but not in the immediate future.
Way too early and gimmicky and expensive for now. Maybe in 200 + years? Who knows...

That reminds me, whatever happened to those Google Glasses? That didn't last long. And 3d movies? I mean real movies not the cartoons, also a fail it seems

Depends. We don't sit an inch away from out TVs to make the TV look better because it will hurt out eyes. If we can get a tech where you can wear a headset without it hurting your eyes and the experience just as good as using multiple monitors then for productivity alone I would use it. AR would be a bonus.

Question should be is there a screen tech that won't hurt your eyes and you won't notice the pixels close up so the resolution has to be so much better than normal screens.

It was canned. Tiny screens over normal glasses with swipe gestures failed. If the experience is so much worse than a smartphone then you might as well pull out your smartphone. Also was easily noticeable by others who don't want to be recorded so you automatically have the creep label if you wear it.

Absolutely. Just a matter of time, peeps want this escapism.

I think Apple's approach is the right one. Full immersion VR is not all that commercially viable. But a mixed AR experience with exceptionally good passthrough could be really cool. I'd use a headset to do my work on if the experience was optimal.

It's a matter of getting going properly, like this approach. Then there's enough finance to boooost it, who knows where..
