so...do you?

PS.Why is it so difficult to get firewire harddrives!!!!

Used it on a canon camera and on my ipod but now only use usb . . . USB 3.0 ftw

Yeah, it's very useful for transferring data from one Mac to another - Firewire Target Disk mode. I had a Firewire iSight webcam, gave it to my friend for her iMac. Also for low latency audio & video, it's the best.

Here's a Firewire hard drive:http://www.kalahari.net/electronics/Verbatim-3-5-External-Firewire-HDD-1TB/35821/34478073.aspx

There's not a big difference between Firewire & USB 2.0 for external hard drive speeds. Or for that matter USB 3.0. So just get a USB hard drive.

On paper usb2 might be faster than fw400 but in reality for sustained data transfer the opposite is true.

FW800 is obviously fas
ter.

i smash my Pre Sonus Firebox into my firewire port.

yummy.

all the time

my one macmini in fact mostly runs from its firewire. I have three enclosures and they are fast fast fast. USB 2 at 480 gets divided with each device. Firewire is dedicated 400 or 800.

Will usb 3 be divided similarly?
