If one sign a contract with Telkom on a Dobroadband package, would they upgrade your line and cap if the packages are upgraded?

For instance, when I sign a Dobroadband 3 contract, and October they decide to upgrade it to 8mb/s, and 10GB cap, will I benefit from it?

Why do you want to sign a contract?
You can get it month to month.

Anyway, if they drop their charges, yours should also drop.
I think it worked like that in the past.

don't they have the option still for self install and get a free modem? they use to so I did a self install and picked up modem and saved the fee if the install

i think the contract would be long over before we see 8meg lines, nor are they obligated to addapt their terms of service. hope i'm wrong though

Good grief! Don't do that, especially now! With seacom....well.....imminent....anything could happen over the next few months. You don't want to be tying yourself into a contract now. Wireless routers aren't that expensive.

Because I need a Wifi router and I DON'T have R1000 for that.
you can ask them to put that straight onto your telephone bill. which i guess doesnt help the problem but still worth knowing.

i would really not sign a contract at such a volatile time in the broadband market

true story, a little over a year ago when i got adsl there were three options. "Fast"; running at 192kbps, "Faster".. 384kbps, and "Fastest"; a whole 4 megabits with an unshaped account. a month or so later came the upgrade, the 192 ppl became 384's but they didnt bump us 384 users to 512kbps, so i wouldn't count on a 4meg gaining much if/when there is an upgrade.

i don't recommed anyone allows themselves to be locked into a contract but things could be worse i sepose, they could sell you a locked router like certian other crooks *points*

i'd rather not say anything about seacom comming to save us, i have my doubts
