Hi folks

We have just arrived at the DoC’s Colloquium to listen to the DG of the DoC’s presentation. We were subsequently informed that Ms Lyndall Shope-Mafole (DG) will AGAIN not be able to make the colloquium. She apparently had to attend to other DoC issues. As this is a DoC colloquium, organized and funded by the DoC and where they placed her on the program it is certainly not acceptable.

Currently there is a feedback session about discussions that took place yesterday and today. Not very enlightening, but it was pointed out that the broadband penetration target of 5% should be much higher! They went as far as to say that the broadband access target within 5 years should be 50%!

More feedback as interesting info comes in.

RPM

Hi R4tt3xx

Unfortunately it is only a presentation session :(

It looks like Telkom was part of one of the sessions. They argued how they will recoup their investments when it comes to LLU. No big surprises…just have a look at wikipedia’s LLU definition. This one simply looks like a Telkom versus the rest presentation…

Hi folks

You are missing a very pleasant discussion. One could clearly see that Telkom was present in this session asking for more studies etc. When it was opened to the floor Antowan was first to speak. He was short and sweet: Rename this session to the Telkom session as they clearly hijacked it and that we disagree with everything they said (was greeted with applause). The DoC and John Joshlin (researcher) were next and they said exactly the same, which again resulted in applause. Very refreshing!

Hi folks

I have just had an opportunity to speak, and took the opportunity to make the DoC aware of what you guys feel. I quoted the results from the two polls on the front page from yesterday and today where 91% of voters felt that not enough is done by the DoC and where 99% of users felt that our telecoms sector is in shambles. I also asked for the dual process of regulation and introducing competition. While we know that competition is the first prize, regulation is needed in the interim to ensure that consumers are protected against monopolistic abuse.

Dr. Kelly is now presenting his thoughts. Will appear in an article by Cara.

Hi folks

Mr. Padayachie is currently giving feedback. Not much new, but it looks like he has a good grasp on all the issues and what must be done. He also said that we can expect to see things happening in 6-8 weeks. There is hope :D

RPM

Mr. Padayachie is our only hope, everyone else is scoffing doughnuts and playing Solitaire.

Ivy Matsepe Casaburri should be booted and Mr. Padayachie should be MoC.

Let's wait for him to actually change something before talking about promotions ;)
Ahmen my Brutha :)
Many that have gone before him have been full of hot air and buggerall action, The deputy seems to have more hotair than most, lets hope he also topped up with some 'action' as well.

Antowan + rpm + Cara +others, thx for the effort and the feedback. and thumbs up to Ant for his speech
