DoC committed to talking about the ICT sector

Deputy Minister of Communications Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams says that the recent broadband talk shops show the department’s commitment to the ICT sector

No, doing their jobs to the best of their abilities will show their commitment to the ICT sector. Talking is just that, talking.

How about this DoC...

We no longer want to hear your useless bloody "talk" we want concrete positive action, nothing less will satisfy us anymore.

Unfortunately so much of the talking can be viewed as contradictory bodies seeking to gain power from each other.

We are still waiting for a single announcement concerning the ICT Policy Review Panel for which nominations closed more than 4 months ago (well 4 months tomorrow) and for that matter the ICT Colloquium Report hasn't been written after more than 6 months ago and the link on the DoC website for the Colloquium gives a 404 error.

Coupled to this there is a review of the performance of ICASA councillors set against a backdrop of a failed witchhunt earlier this year.

Next week we host a broadband workshop with the industry to finalise our plans for broadband,” said Ndabeni-Abrahams.

perhaps let industry know....

Is this not why they are employed and being paid for via our tax monies ????

DoC committed to talking about broadband and ICT

I think I understand the code now, "broadband" must be conversations about the love handles of minister+boyfriend, while "ICT" means Indaba Colloquium Taxpayers (lots of money stolen to pay for minister's fancy designer shoes and fugly turquoise outfit).

So the panel is going to be guided by options suggested by a service provider who is selected on a tender advertised for little more than a week?

And we still have no idea what the panel will look like and there is an industry workshop with selected industry players ...
