DoC officials in graft probe

when it comes to keeping its eye on the ball the DoC (and ICASA) is squint...this is akin to them putting on a blindfold

This is only one probe.......

Correction, this is only the first probe. Many more to come to uncover all the skeletons.

“The DoC is committed to a corruption-free and clean department,” it said.

It seems that the DoC's view of achieving this is by doing as little as possible, thus giving junior members of staff as little as possible opportunity to be corrupt.

Modise said, however, that the two instances – the suspension of two of DoC ‘s officials, and that of Manche from Icasa – were entirely separate and unrelated matters. “There’s no relationship whatsoever,” he said.

There is a relationship. The relationship is one of an increasingly befouled telecommunications industry where corruption, monopolisation, blatant lies, and price gouging is the norm of the day.

Don't you find it strange that as soon as the SNO is to be fully licensed things are happening in certain departments. First it was ICASA, now this. I mean, how does R4 mil go missing to juniors. Something smells fishy!

hmmmm... wonder why liberalization has been so slow?!

Now here's a thought - if all of the forum members donated R10.00 to bribing the DOC and ICASA to do something about Telkom.

Nah,forget it Telkom's can afford to outbid us to get it reversed.

Is there hope for the consumer out there? Is there someone out there who still has a conscience. We're screwed by Telkom, we're screwed by the regulator, screwed by bigbrothers. I mean WE ARE SCREWED!!! HELP, HELP, SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!!!!

Don't ask for help. If someone hears you and they know we are getting screwed they want to be part of the action and screw us some more.
I think the main reason for companies outside SA who wants to invest in telecoms is that they know how we are being screwed for high prices in telecoms and they want some off the money.
