Docs to be told where to work

Actually this also illustrates much of what's wrong with modern leftist thinking.

This law may be considered 'noble' because of its ends which are to, supposedly, provide better healthcare. However, the implementation and the effect on individual people is not considered. As long as the ends justify the means, it's noble.

Leftists always want to control people. And always want to help the poor or the underprivileged with someone elses' lives and hands.

Thats just it though the ends wont justify anything as this will just discourage people becoming doctors and from opening practices in south africa making medicine more out of reach for the poor. I imagine the people who thought up these laws have no clue about economics or common sense for that matter.

I want to know, since this law is idiotic, is it also relevant to those who practice in "traditional" medicine?

:D:D:D:D . There arent enough traditional healers in the northern suburbs of Jburg so this law will adress such problems

I forsee a lot of "Piet's Dry Cleaners / Doctor's Surgery" springing up all over town.

Guys this is Marxist social engineering straight out of the textbook.
The same regulations are being drawn up for many professions where there are too many professionals in privileged urban areas and too few in the rural and developing communities.
We don't live in a democracy anymore. It's just a facade.
The 20 year negotiated sunset clause of CODESA came to an end the day before yesterday.
Either conform to the African way, dictated by indigenous black Africans (and inspired by Brazil, Russia and China) or ship out!
It's that simple.

How can anyone in their right mind think that this will work. Idiots in charge.

The ANC: trying to force the private sector to fix their cock-ups since 1994...
I didn't expect such a failed comment from a clear sighted individual like yourself.

Apartheid made most of the "cock ups" when the only people they served was the whites. The ANC just inherited all the problems, problems that were never seen as problems in the days of Verwoerd and company.

The problem here is white doctors who would not be willing to work in so-called "colored or black areas". And there's quite a few reasonable valid reasons for this
