Have anyone seen this documentary yet?

Synopsis

Tainted Heroes tells the story of how the African National Congress (ANC) – once a marginalised organisation within the South African political landscape – rose to power in the aftermath of the Soweto Uprisings in 1976. The documentary deals with the organisation’s military training received in various African countries as well as the lesser known story of how the ANC underwent strategic training in Vietnam to implement a so-called people’s war strategy against its rival organisations. This was especially implemented against the organisation’s former ally, Inkatha, led by Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi. The

film explains how the ANC successfully implemented
a predetermined programme of violence, fear and propaganda to eliminate political rivals and establish itself as the sole representative of black aspirations in South Africa. It illuminates how the ANC’s armed struggle was more a struggle against black rival organisations than against the apartheid system.

No, but I want to. They've been going on about it for a while now.

How can we watch it? Is the full thing available for streaming? Will it be picked up by e-tv (or SABC )?

I've heard it will be made available free of charge. Hoping someone will provide a link when it becomes available.

I've watched it, and it's very good! true and accurate. I've always known about certain things of our past, but struggled to find data that had depth, this documentary did just that. Interviews with high ranked people, real footage.... very interesting, and it's "obvious" why the ANC will call this documentary propaganda/racist.

When will it become available?

A movie about the ANC's history made by AfriForum? lol.

As expected, sounds like agenda-laden propaganda crud.

Two opposing opinions, one from a guy who has actually seen it. What shall we do..?

cbc & orbital in the ring.. gentlemen, fight! ding! ding! ding!

Afriforum are playing with fire here, I think they will wait until after the elections before releasing it.
Releasing it now will just cause more problems for the country.

That's the crux.

That's the crux.
I am not saying it shouldn't ever be released. Just not before the election.

It is interesting to see what the other side has to say, even if you disagree with them. If you don't understand the arguments your opponent's are making, then you probably don't understand your own very well.

They're not making an argument, though. They're pushing out propaganda, as they've done before, and will do in future. If they produced an objective and honest documentary about the topic that would be interesting.

I'll be avoiding it like I'd avoid an ANC or EFF-produced documentary on the National Party.

Have you seen it? If not you won't know how objective it is.

If it is propaganda, then what is the "untrue" message they are trying to convey?
That the ANC was(and hopefully not is) made up of some particularly ruthless people? I am pretty sure most people won't argue with that fact.

From the trailers I have seen, it does have the typical emotional guitar music in the background. But then again, so did Making a Murderer.

The interesting part for me will be how the people in the video(like Kasrils) react to it.

Read the link I posted.

And it's AfriForum...

You know, for all of you that "loath" AfriForum so much, they actually do a whole lot of good. They take municipalities to task and get result.

Their only "crime" is their name and image being that of "white people".

Still haven't seen this documentary but I reckon it should be released before the elections if it has a chance of doing damage to the current government who are inept to lead a country. Factual? Whatever, the end justifies the means. This government is killing the country.

Haha, not sure where you live, but it was Premiered at Menlyn Pretoria the beginning of this year. If you like history and specially south african so called struggle history, do yourself a favour and read this book It'll put things in perspective.

I don't loathe them, and yes they do a lot of good. As does Solidarity.

I'm just saying I don't trust them to make an objective or honest documentary about the ANC's history, and going by the review I posted earlier I'm correct in that assessment.

But then, going by your last paragraph it doesn't seem to bother you, so 'whatever', indeed.

No, breaking the ANC's strangle hold on South Africa by using a film that might be biased doesn't bother me at all.

Who is going to watch it?People who are already against the ANC. I doubt it'll be shown on SABC / Etv. As Orbital said it's from afriforum so it's going to be biased as heck if one looks at afriforum.I don't see the point of people bringing up the anc's dirty past.

Their voters already know about it and aren't going to change their mind.If the ANC made a film about the DA and showed their "shady past" then it'll be viewed as propaganda and would be ripped to pieces.I wish the opposition would stop talking about the ANC and start talking about what they can do for the voters. All I ever see from from the DA is bad things about the ANC & Zuma etc etc.Gone a bit off topic here but I believe it ties in.
