Does a civic handle too well?

Typical case of making a major upgrade.

It's what happens when you go from a dinky toy car to a proper car in one step.

Oddly enough we also had a 2000/2001 Fiat Palio 1.2 which I traded in on my Golf GTI...and what's odd was with all that power, heated leather seats, amazing DSG gearbox, sun roof, automatic headlamps and what have you...I ended up enjoying the "other car" (a 2001 Opel Corsa 1.4 Lite with fokkol) a lot more every time I got behind the wheel.

The lack of insulation means even doing 20km/h sounds insane. The body roll makes everything feel super fast. The manual gearbox just adds a bit of work and then the complete lack of power steering makes it feel so direct like a go kart.

Would I trade it back? You must be ****ing mad.

****ty cars are just more visceral for all the wrong reasons and that's why it feels strange to you. Yes your car is too well built, compared to what you had before and that makes it feel boring.

*****

Set your seat as low as it can go so that you are looking at the horizon instead of the nose of the car and the road in front of you. This will sort out the clutch pedal somewhat and is also the way you should be driving anyway.

True heh, well said!

The main thing about having a newer car is the lack of noise coupled with more power. My insulation is such that there is very little difference in road noise between normal and highway driving. When I first got the car, I would frequently find myself doing 160km/h on the highway without even knowing. You get used to it.

Enjoy the new wheels. :D

Welcome to the 21st Century! :D

You will soon forget the Palio, and if you eventually do drive one again, you won't be able to understand how you lived with it in the first place! :p

What the **** are you on about?

Did you miss the part where the OP's experience and mine are almost IDENTICAL?

There was no be all and end all to anything, I simply acknowledged that I understand exactly what he means and explained why I think it happens...where most other people would say he might be crazy.

There is nothing clueless about personal experiences. In fact the exact opposite for someone like yourself who doesn't have the same experience to verbalize an opinion from.

You really are a fly in the vaseline.

hehe - you explained why you "think" it happens? I thought you just told everyone why it happens?

Mountains of mole hills is your problem, not mine.

Nothing to rebuff.

Going to have say no; unless you man the CTR models.

In the early 00's Honda's (VTEC) engines took a shift from performance to efficiency & lower emissions.

There was a noticeable drop in power as well for 1.6 in the Ballade.
