I just want to check if i am the only one whose bill / payment runs like this.

Basically my bill runs on the 20th of every month and i am on debit order that runs on the 25th of every month. but my debit order is always run a month later. eg my last bill dated 20 october but my debit order for that bill will only be run on the 25th of november. There nothing wrong with this but it always shows my acount is in arrears and when setting my bill limit i had to efectively double the figure i thought of using as my line would be blocked every month if i didnt do that. Also every time i go into the shops (for upgrade new contract etc) they tell me i cant as i am in arrears i tell them check again i pay on debit order i cant be in arraers and they come back apologise and everything is fine.
Its not a problem excpt it being very anoying I just want to know is this how every one on MTN is billed or is it just me.
And is there any way i can be billed corectly in the same month, its just that recently work started paying for my phone and i claim monthly but the debit is the next month.

Mine is also the 20th and my statement always shows in arrears, yes. But I have not been affected by this in any way except having to stay calm each time I see the amount owing.

Nope i changed mine to go off on the 1st but with airtime top ups happening on the 11th as well. Its quite annoying but we make do - Not ayoba

Who is your provider? MTN Direct?

I'm using MTN via Autopage (heaven help me) and I don't have this issue at all. My monthly run date is from 16 to 15 though and this amount gets deducted end of month.

my account cuts-off on the 7th(?oct?) & is then due the end of the next month(?nov?)

telkom's cut-off & due-by dates work similar.

Have never been told that I'm in arears ...

yes directly with MTNSP.
So its not just me :(

consider:

they cut the monthly bill on the 20th, is that enough time for you to receive a posted copy before the debit order?

Also the SPs need time to get the CORRECT debit order instructions to the various banks.

Infact a cell contract is a 30 day account so unless you missed last months payment you are up-to-date & the shop's people must learn to read more carefully...

Same issue on one of my two MTNSP contracts. Irritating but does not appear on ITC as being in arrears so have to live with it I guess. Debit order goes off on 30th of each month

Mine also shows up as in arrears... but also never have been affected in any way... The debit order has not gone off by the time I receive the bill - thats probably it? At the end of the month it goes off as normal... No added amounts or extra bits added... I think they will hunt you down if you owe any outstanding amounts above the normal bill...

:D you would be cut off very quickly too if account was actually in arrears - that they don't mess up

that part aperently is very hard for them to do :)

like i said more of an iritatant then a problem for me, was just wondering if i am the only one whose acount runs this way.
with regard to them billing on time so far only once in the last few years were they ever late with a bill (email not using snail mail) but ya i see you point

The invoice dates i remember from my call centre days were 7th, 11th, 14th( for the old virgin active dudes we used to have)- they used to be debited at the end of that respective month. Then there was the 20th and the 26th, which used to go off end of the next month- account reflects in arrears but its not really. It really all just makes it easier to process the bank orders, less complications.
