I went to do a SIM Swap yesterday to a LTE SIM. I got told that LTE is not allowed on the MTN Lite package. I then called 808 who verified this. Now I sit with a new 2000 Rand Huawei LTE router that cannot do LTE.
Has anyone tried to have LTE activated on MTN Lite?

Thanks k's you Dr Data! I'll test it tomorrow when I get someone to set up my new Huawei B something router. That's another story.

Thanks k's Dr Data. I'm at work inserted the SIM in my Huawei B593 and it's giving me a red (circle) light. According to the manual I have no signal of this happens.

Ok scrap that . I actually get steady purple light that means its not recognising the SIM. I inserted it in my pone to check if there is a password on which it doesnt.

Does this mean I have to do another SIM Swap?

If the sim worked before, it should still work. By enabling LTE it just means it will be able to connect on that.

hi Dr Data

/waves... i didn't recognise you when we last met - sorry about that.

now that you're here, please can you test your 173 number. i've been trying for 2 days to get a SIM swap and can't get an english message.

pleeeze help if you can.

Hi maumau, I just tested it and them menu is in English? Also, the option to do a SIM Swap is option 1.

something very wierd's going on. i only get an african language, i kid you not.

i got the new SIM rica'd yesterday and the MTN shop tried 173 and could only get what she called a "black language" i get the same on my new SIM.

on my old phone i get english and to change languages i should press star but that doesn't work. just restarted my phone but it makes no difference.

i'll ask one of the black guys at work to translate for me or perhaps go back to MTN so they can do it.

thank you Mimen.

p.s. we're having dreadful trouble with our internet connection at work, hence my delay in replying.

OK, I just listened to the entire menu. Option 5 is to change your language. So if you can get someone that knows the language ask them to go to option 5 to change it.

OK i'll get one of the chaps from downstairs. thanks again.

Def weird - it's a new MTN prepaid LTE SIM in a Galaxy Note 3.

one of the black guys got me into the menu (still in Xhosa) but hoping that when someone answers they'll be able to switch to English.

still holding 30 minutes later but i'm scared to hang up. hope my battery lasts.

tks Mimen, tried but the language wouldn't change. Sorry to be a pest.

35 minutes, had to hang up and do some work. still haven't managed my SIM swap.

not getting at you Mimen or Dr Data, just saying.
