I see Mimen replied, but yes, that's possible. I just wish they'd answer the freaking phone at 173. 2 days down, 3rd day tomorrow.

posting this for others who have the problem because it seems to be quite well known - check the MTN facebook page.

my solution - tossing the SIM and buying a new one for R3.50.

I did, no luck. They're very good though. I'm in contact with one of their techies.

did you get a new SIM Mimen? and the problem persisted? if so, it must be a phone setting.

who's? what's? "very good"?

how'd you get in contact with a techie? has he got a solution?

Hi

Seems like the language preference was set on that SIM. Its done so that when you call 173 your preferred language plays. Could have been setup in error. I would have been able to change it but I see you already got a new SIM
