like the title asks .... so does anyone on this here forum have this phone yet ?

honestly the iPhone is nice ... but the lack of navigation and not being able to bluetooth pictures to my PC is beginning to annoy me ... (please dont make this an iPhone thread, its an INNOV8 thread ok? :D)
 
Doesn't look like it. It surely is a nice phone if you look at the specifications. Almost exact same phone as the N96.

I think the INNOV8 is better than the N96 but on personal taste I'll go for the N96 because I've never had a single problem with any Nokia I owned before.

If you don't worry about the brand then I'll say take the Samsung.
 
yeah not worried about the brand ... its looks a good phone, think i will get the INNOV8 ... btw if you want to ever sell one of those GTX's from your PC lemme know :)

:D As soon as I get the GTX300 then we can talk. The GTX300 is going to outperform the 4870x2 so I can just imagine what 2xGTX300's will do.



Back to the topic. Go for the INNOV8 then.

where did you get yours from?

EDIT: oh yeah, what onboard memory do you have 16GB or 8GB?

I got it from vodacom (Vodacom4U in Stellenbosch) but they had to order it for me. They ordered it on friday morning and I got it on wednesday. It's got 16GB onboard. As far as i can see from samsung's website I don't think they are going to release the 8GB in SA.
 
Did you take it on a new contract. if so what one?
or did you pay upfront cash?

I'm with you. Not on the N96 specifically but on your comments about Nokia. This only became apparent to me after switching back to Nokia after two years of Samsung use.

i wonder when will nashua get the innov8, i have got a contract with them and its due for upgrade...
 
I have a talk 130 and I had to pay in R3500 (yes it is quite expensive). I am enjoying the phone very much. The camera is VERY good! Still getting use to symbian. I have been using SE for the last couple of years. The size and the weight of the phone is also not too bad. I'm still evaluating the battery life. First day I used Bluetooth for 3 hours, used the GPS quite a bit, had 3G on, played games etc and it lasted about 13 hours. I took the phone of charge saturday at 7pm and the battery is 1/2 now.
The PC software is very good that came with the phone. Works very well.
In the box you get one of those cradles for your car that sucks onto the windscreen if you want to use the GPS, a car charger, TV out cables, earphones and a USB cable.
Hmm thats all I can think of now. If theres anything else let me know.

i think the INNOV is a symbian rebirth of the Omnia offering. Same sort of specs, event the box contents are the same. :)
I'm saying that Samsung are getting it right nowadays :) I'm loving my Omnia
I say, for the price though, Omnia still the best value for money!
 
No it's not vodafone branded! Thank goodness! I only know the pay in for the talk 130 (R3500).
Yeah it is a lot similar to the omnia, the box looks the same too :). But I'm not a big winmo fan and because I have an ipod touch any other touch screen just feels crap.

thanks for that!!!! i hate vodafone branded crap ... its R2500 odd pay in on my business top up ... think i will pay them a visit ...

how is the build quality?

Just watch out hey. They could be giving you the INNOV8 with 8gb & not 16gb onboard.
Getting mine tomorrow, FINALLY!!!:D:D:D
 
Build quality is OK. The slider could be a bit more sturdy but its definetly not bad. Yeah the nav is for life (so they tell me, but it doesn't say trail version so I think it is). It is Route 66 though and not Garmin. It's doesn't have the speed cameras for SA and the speed zones like Garmin has but it's still good. It's got SA maps, Namibia and Botswana so thats a bonus.

I don't think we are getting the 8GB model in SA as far as I can see from samsung's website. But the onboard mem is printed above the screen so you will know very quickly if it isn't 16GB :)
