Does anyone know a local mirror for Ubuntu Studio 8.04?

I just spotted Ubuntu Studio in the Synaptic Package Manager. afaik, all the downloads available in the package manager are available from a local ubuntu mirror.

Just start the package manager and search for "ubuntu studio".

I know this, but I kind of wanted the "proper" thing, the UBS version has a modified kernel, and I'm not 100% whether going through the package manager would get that too.

Also seeing as it's designed for multimedia creation, it may not be that good for productivity I thought, it apparently does use up quite a lot of system resources.

Anyway I resorted to getting it off the News Server.

It's somewhere in the cd-image folder

Can't connect to that server...is it maybe blocked from off campus connections? I assume it's University of Pretoria (up.ac.za)

It's not blocked. I had some trouble with local sites the last few days ?!
I just accessed the link now.... ftp://ftp.up.ac.za/mirrors/ubuntu/u.../release/ubuntustudio-8.04-alternate-i386.iso

Yeah, it is the University of Pretoria's ftp.
