Seeing as consumers in SA don't have access to internet that has an upload speed that's not even remotely able to host file, game and web servers this might be a good idea. VPS and dedicated servers are very expensive in SA compared to other countries especially for deals that are suitable for game servers.. You can build your own rig then they will plug it by their data centers and then they will charge you for the amount of data and power it uses. Maybe they would wipe your hard drives, so that you don't damage their network, and then put their software for you to manage it.

Use a cloud server rather. Rackspace, myvirpus etc.

What you explain is already a product, called colo hosting, or co-location hosting. There are datacentres that have been doing this, but most stopped this product. The easiest you can get now, is to host your own servers at Teraco, who you then pay for the cabinet or half-cabinet, power, and then you can buy bandwidth from any of the ISPs who sell transit in there. You can also peer with NapAfrica then. Its quite a bit of work and money though, much more expensive than a VPS or dedi server.

+1, get a VPS if you want to host gameservers, I got around 5 mw3 servers off a budget VPS from AH.

If colo is what you want rather get a 1u server, much cheaper then paying for 4-6 Us to get a desktop chassis in there.
