Does armour and weapons still matter?

Playing robocop he is armoured and you only really need his pistol.

What's your previous 5 titles - from there atleast 4 should good?

Doom the dark ages which I played before this, the guns should have mattered right?

It's a shooter so one would think so, however, you actually only need the plasma and super shotgun.

All the guns and their all the alt versions actually is nothing more than busy work without the feeling of them needing to be there.

Which gives ofd the feeling It has too many guns and could be cut down to at least half.

Before that Khazan had some agency with it's sets. However I basically played the whole game with two sets and loot was meaningless other than dismantling to upgrade.

None of this means the game is totally kaka - I'm asking when last did it actually matter other than being a fashion statement...

So which games did you play in last 6 months then?

Literally the only game where gear didn't matter is Sekiro because it doesn't matter what you use if you can parry you beat the game. Even for games not in pics (I'm in office now so can't see my library) like Resident Evil Requiem yes gear matters.

Gear grind is what keeps us playing.

From Ark Survival to Warframe and most inbetween

strange topic.

In a similar vein I have to always question why plain regular white vanilla items even exist in these games?

Because you never pick them up, knowing full fell they are useless compared to the yellow, blue, orange, purple stuff.
Probably to promote busy-work. When whites can be turned into something useful - then that is great.

No nioh2? thats next up when I'm finally done and had time for stellarblade.
Yup played Nioh 2 to death. 700'ish hours if I recall. I will show you but I see the PS App doesn't give records of all games only the last one or two.

Elden Ring for example I platted twice. Most hours on console. PS5 was auto-pop so technically 3 times.

I was on console for the whole PS4 era so I have gaps in my PC library and I looked but it doesn't seem like you can order things properly when using Steam in a browser.

Damn, now I can't post mine otherwise you all will see how many hours I have in Fallout 76
Nothing to be ashamed of.

I think my most played game in recent years is probably Black Desert at 2k+ hours over 2 years but that's an MMO so I don't feel bad.

Games with many more hours than that is Warframe (5 - 6 years, maxed everything) and before that Final Fantasy 14 (1 year).

Many years ago I only touched WoW when it was released. I never played that game, Guild Wars 1/2 on the other hand... I don't have that many hours in Warframe. Games that I do have a significant amount of time in are SWTOR, ESO, and STO. All of this is pre-2020. Fallout 76 is the only game of the lot that I have only played co-op.

Then I also have a stupid amount of hours in CS. PUBG is also clocking in high, but I have played that game for a very long time now. Then there is ARMA 3, and Squad. Though I have DayZ, I played it mostly when it was still an Arma mod.

I think my average nowadays is only like 30-40 hours to be honest. I really do not have time to play games twice anymore. If its done its done. I'm too old now.

I now actually avoid MMO's/live service/gacha games completely. Even if mates ask me I'm like nope.

No I'll never ever forget those 12 hour dungeon sessions but I simply can't do these things anymore. It was fun but its over now.
