Does Cool Ideas actually throttle you?

I finally got the time to check out some stuff, but Cool Ideas is currently down with TT Connect :(

In terms of other info, my Android Tv is an MXQ 4K with the Kodi, Netflix and YouTube.

It used to run with no problems whatsoever and never used to experience a buffer until about 2 weeks ago. Now, it takes a while to load up anything, the buffer is continues and when a video plays, it lasts for about a minute and buffers again.

I did run a Speedtest on the Android TV and I get around 16 up and 14 down.

Also, every video buffers no matter the time of day (both on weekends and weekdays)

TTConnect lost all connectivity to Teraco yesterday but was resolved, if your android TV gets that on a speedtest of that, what do your other devices get? Also is your android TV cabled in?

On my iPhone and iPad I get around 18 up and 20-21 down on my PC, I get around 19/20; my Xbox is weird as I get like 14 down and 12 up when I run a test on it.

and yes, I’m on a wired connection on my Android TV :) most of the time when I’m using it, the only other device that is connected is my phone, and I only really use WhatsApp on it.

And you are getting the same buffering to Netflix and Youtube on all devices?

Most of the time... why not all the time if it's connected via cable. Something sounds wrong here.

Sorry, was half asleep when I wrote that message. It’s on a wired connection all the time. Never need it to be on wireless. By most of the time, I was referring to my phone. Turn off WiFi when I get to the gym cause their network sucks and I forget to turn it on after lol

On my phone or tablet, no (tested youtube this morning on my phone), on the Android TV, yes.

So then something localised with the device or network, not with your ISP :).

I’m not sure what you mean by localized. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Wouldn't know what the issue is with your setup off hand unfortunately, google and troubleshooting are your friend. Alternatively reach out for some IT support.

They do throttle Netflix. There is a way to test this. Netflix has its own Speedtest tool that connects to its server, its http://www.fast.com/
You need to run two test to compare your uploads and download. Use Speedtest and fast.com

My result were shocking:
Speedtest result: 18mbps
Fast.com result: 240kbps

I then disconnected my WiFi and connected to 4g on my phone and Fast.com result was 19mbps.

Insane difference. I have the snips of the results.

Lmao. Try with cable. Your results are a result of using an unreliable medium.

We have a Netflix cluster on our network, as mentioned please test with a cabled device.

My fast.com result was 43mbps

I got a few readings of 36mbps on fast.com on my 25mbps line, speedtest showed the correct line speed. Just curious why it would do that?

That MXQ 4K is not the fastest android Box. I need to every now and then kill all the apps or reboot it or it also start to stutter on video streaming, might just look like buffering.

Nope they don't throttle, moved to them recently and was told no shaping and no throttling

Nah they don't. My results between fast.com and speedtest are always very close to the same. Something else must be wrong your side, like others said use a wired connection to test.
