dns for blf.org.za is 196.46.185.99

Code:
whois information:
inetnum: 196.46.185.0 - 196.46.185.127
netname: ELITEHOST

So does Elite host host blf.org.za (black land first)?

If so, why would they want to host them?

Land Expropriation is a failed policy. 95% of redistributed farms are unproductive. Accelerating redistribution will be a disaster for the poor of all races.

If this policy goes ahead many businesses that host with Elite host will close their doors.

Why host a website which is pushing a political agenda which is not good for your business?

I'd think basing decisions regarding whoever may use your services on political factors, would send your business down a very slippery slope - I'd even say it's unethical.

Don't get me started on BFLF (correct acronym, not my fault if they **** it up themselves) in terms of ethics, but it's not Elitehost's business to decide who is right or wrong in such instances - they basically only check to see if the client will be able to pay.

Surely at some point, civil society needs to take a moral standpoint and say "no more"?

As long as it doesn't break any current laws within SA, then it can be hosted.

They aren't the web police, they are the web host

Blackopinion.co.za is the BFLF sister website, the one being their organisation and the other their news, opinion or whatever section. Blackopinion.co.za is hosted by Hetzner iirc.

As the LazyLion has said,

Already another thread discussing this in the "Off Topic" forum. No need to rehash. And no need for a witch hunt.

Note that if they were to be kicked off EH, they'd find another home in a snatch.

Something to ponder. If we start dictating which political viewpoints web hosting companies ought to allow on their servers, where exactly do we draw the line? I completely understand the decisions taken by the various banks to sever ties with the Guptas, as this was justified through fear of illegal activities being conducted via their facilities (i.e. money laundering). But the publicising of political views, whether immoral or unjust, is not an illegal activity (free speech).

BLF is big on hate speech, racism and threats
Are those protected by free speech?

I can't comment on SA law, but racism and 'hate speech' ought to be, whether it offends or not. Threats of violence not so much.
Regardless, were instances of these clearly present on their website? As mentioned previously, if you can demonstrate illegal content, then fair game. Simply notify the host so they're made aware and can take action. No corporate witch hunts necessary.

Appears they're back up, and routing through CloudFlare.

Ironic much?
