Does my PC need a rest??

lol adc, i know the harddrives are at risk when you boot up, but you better off tunering off the pc, BUT there's one thing that really fukc's them up and thats when you press the resart button and when you hold down the off button untill the pc tunes off,

I reboot all my servers at least once a month, as suggested by MS. Clear up all leaking memory would be the best reason. It works foe me. Every time the box starts up, a system check is performed, pre failure messages helps too.

um (DmZ)Wrecky, what ya do for a living, and my friends company has 34 odd servers, and they restart there shyte in groups of 4, it takes forever

I am Senior Network Engineer. At one of my sites I look after 20 odd, once a month I apply MS patches and shut down. Application servers first, back office next and then Tree and Forrest controllers. Also doing housekeeping and health checking in total takes about 4 hours is all goes well.
