Id like to get netflix and a chromcast

But would it work easy for a slightly tech savy person to navigate her way through the dongle to netflix?

Haven't done it myself, but I know chromecast is super easy to use. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Once its setup its fine.

Just note though. The Chromecast is not a standalone device, you need a mobile phone, tablet or like to control it.

I tested this myself last night, The chromecast works 100% with netflix. As stated you will need a mobile device on the same network as the chromecast to control it though, or you will have to use the web browser on a PC.

Yes. It is very easy. There are very basic instructions to get the chromecast connected to your home wireless network once you have plugged it into an HDMI port on your TV. I recommend 300mb-N class wireless for your router. Just download the chromecast app for initial setup. Once that's done, download the Netflix app off the play store on your phone/tablet. When you have signed into the Netflix app, play something and you will see the cast icon on the top right of the screen. Press the cast button and select your chromecast and the show will play on the TV. following that, the phone/tablet becomes a basic controller and you can turn off the screen if you want. Happy viewing! :)

Thanks a lot for this! :)

Cause my gf is liking the idea of watching series via netflix,so i want to get it for her basically to enjoy her series .

But guessing ill have to up my dsl speed to at least 8mbps instead of 4mbps so that the streaming doesnt affect online gaming to much?

Not a problem. I have this running on a 4mbps line. Provided the router is close to the TV and nothing else is using the internet it's ok. But sometimes has bad days probably due to local congestion.

4Mbps is just fine. It can even sustain 2 streams at once. I have been using Chromecast for a while now.

If she likes Netflix, introduce her to Hulu as well and kiss your hanky panky goodbye :p

4meg is perfectly fine for her to watch series in decent quality without affecting your gaming.

You may want to up your cap though if you're on capped.

So I take it that the local Netflix will work just fine on the chromecast without having to change your router settings as some people mentioned you had to do for the US version?

So no need to block the google DNS requests anymore? Will Unotelly still work if you don't

Will Roku or Chromecast also mirror a downloaded movie from tablet to TV?
