Does Takealot honour pricing errors if ordered and paid for already?

So I was looking at Takealot for a new switch when I found the following:

I ordered and paid for it, but now I see it's been removed from listings.
What's their policy on stuff like this?

They should honor it. Friend of mine purchased an item a while back and there was also an error but he got it 2 days later.. Maybe it was pulled as all stock was sold out.

Nope they don't honor I'm still waiting for my refund contacted them all they keep telling me sorry they working on resolving the matter

Off topic: please look to the the thread title for how to spell honour.

On Topic: I've ordered blurays before that were marked as R2, and later repriced to R150.

Takealot honoured the R2 price even though I ordered two of them.

It entirely depends on the quantity ordered at the wrong price and how many people placed orders. If only a handful they will likely honour it and get some good will in the process. If a LOT of people order - example being the recent WD 6TB hard drive price mistake - they won't as the loss would be too great.

Also legally speaking they are within their right to pull the sale and refund you.

That's a 100Mbps switch with 2x 1000Mbps ports. That price actually seems fair to me. 100Mbps is really old tech, even for consumers.

Can't see how that switch should be more expensive than the price you show. If anything, its removed from the website because they have no stock or something.

Looks like the same one on Amazon....

They made the same mistake on the same item about 2 months ago. They did honour the price for me. One of the reasons I love Takealot. I've never had problems with them.

Nope. Back me when they were Take2 I ordered and paid for Firefly and King of the Hill and they were like R20 each. Checked the next day that they cancelled my order.

you should have ordered and kept your mouth shut...

Why? I only posted about it once I saw the price went back up. Doubt anyone but myself or another anon caught the deal before it was fixed. I ordered 2 of them and it says they shipped for delivery already.

Because if to many people order then the loss becomes to big and they withdraw it bright spark.

If it were up to me, I'd honour it based off how nice the customer was about a mistake. I've seen a lot of people being complete jerks about misprints in stores, bugger that. E&OE for them.

Personally I feel companies should honour it - unless there is a clear effort to abuse the error (by ordering a bunch of them etc).

The stunt Hi-Fi corp recently pulled is also kinda acceptable in my books. i.e. They offered a HDD at a stupid price and then issued additional advertising saying "limited to 360 nationwide" once they realized this is going sideways. (If you right click save the image the filename of the ad is even called "apology").
