It *theoretically* should work...I don't have R20 000 to go by a htc m8 and g3 to find out.

Id recommend you ask telkom mobile on Facebook or go into a branch and ask. Though they might just tell you that nothing works on their LTE but the Huawei wifi router.

Already did that. In store they dont know cause they dont sell the G3. I even PM'ed the Telkom dude on here and he states exactly the same thing. They dont sell the G3 so they don't know.

I have a guy on another forum who is maybe going to get a chance to test it over the weekend. I will refert back if he gets back to me.

You would think Telkom Mobile would promote a phone that can make use of their LTE network!?

Everywhere in South Africa?

Well I would suppose that wherever there is LTE it will work on the G3

Yea dunno why they wont promote it either as I would get one in a heartbeat with them.

Hi
Yes, The LG G3 works with LTE, but you cannot receive calls while its on LTE. I tried it @ Melrose Arch and George where I'm from. I reported it to telkommobile to no avail...

They don't have the phone on their network. They won't support any technical queries with this regard. Give them time they probably fine tuning their networking or waiting for an update. Impressed to see LG G3 working on their network.

Very strange that you can't receive calls when connected to LTE? Did you force it to LTE only or is it on Auto? LTE/4G only mode you won't be able to make or receive calls. On Auto mode usually it should revert back to 3G or 2G when the call comes in or is a call being made.

If it does not its strange that Telkom Mobile is not allowing it.

The phone does not have a LTE only but has GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto as the preferred network mode. I don't mind the phone not using LTE to make or receive calls just as long as my data is LTE

This will only be possible once VoLTE is launched in SA. Still a far way off I think. The US is only going live with this in 2015.
