Hi Bros

does your Vodacom Iphone 12 show 5G? it doesn't show on my new Iphone 12, of course under 5G Coverage. Vodacom support can't help anything.

As far as I know only MTN will work with your iPhone on 5G for now.

yes, that's the news, but when i contacted with Vodacom, they don't say this, they said "under 5G coverage, your iphone 12 will get 5G sign and speed"

That's one thing I don't like about Apple is they make even more money for network to pay them to have these features enabled.

As for actual 5G on Vodacom it's not as fast as MTN at around 300Mbps or so which means you aren't missing much compared to decent 4G+

i am still reporting to Vodacom via Facebook "not get 5G under coverage", they didn't deny "5G service availability"

Carrier settings on iPhone 12 models have been updated to enable Vodacom 5G. Please check and give report backs on 5G when in 5G coverage area

Yes it shows 5G at the top right. Durban North and for some reason Musgrave Center, even though Vodacom do not have 5G coverage in Musgrave, which is odd - I just noticed today that it switched over to 5G in the mall, so may be new.

Perhaps Apple will support it soon, however, it seems as it stands now, still only MTN

Sorry for hijacking this thread, but what is exactly meant by FaceTime over Mobile?
Uses mobile data? Or instead uses 'minutes' the same as a call?

still no signal, Vodacom does not fix it, no call to me to explain, but ticket was closed few days ago. i will have to leave like that, waste of my time. Hope my phone 12 with no issue
Sounds like you have a similar problem to me. Fixed this by popping my sim card into another iPhone 12 and 5G activated. Maybe just go into an iStore and do it to one of the demo phones?

Weird right. That's exactly what I did. I have no idea why it was not activating in my phone. It was almost like a provision on the SIM card. I am on MTN though. Maybe give it a try? Otherwise I guess it is Vodacom.
