Howdy,

We're in the market for a Tiguan, saw a stunning spec at WeBuyCars, but when I went to drive it, quickly realised it's a lot slower than it's supposed to be (highline, as advertised, is 162kw vs 132kw on comfortline). I enquired with VW who confirmed it's a comfortline.

So I went back to the salesperson and said unless he comes down with the price, we aren't interested as we don't want to pay highline money for a comfortline. He said WBC does no negotiations of any sort as the profit margin is already very small.

Is it the same story for Weelee? We've seen a good spec on their site and before going to the hassle of engaging with yet another salesperson, I'd love to hear some stories from you.

TIA

So that is false advertisement, tell them you will see them in court,

I don't think the trims are the best way of telling which is which because you can have a both trims with the same power output, he is just going to confuse himself.

Last time I checked there's a 1.4 turbo and the 2.0 turbo, that was the difference between 110kW and 162kW. I don't remember a petrol 132kW, maybe the diesel?

Don't buy a car from a company which buys and sells cars voetstoets. Your experience above should already be enough to show you their level of incompetence and dishonesty.

Buy from an actual dealer. You have no recourse when buying from these places.
