Dolce Gusto Pods

didnt you say it lasted just over a year and the fixed it no charge .it was the alignment on the cartridge ,it was probably going into park or transport mode ,if you hold a certain button down it does that .
They fixed it and it lasted a year before doing the same and they fixed it for free again. Still a manufacturing defect and I can't recommend the brand.

Breville Barista Express Impress. I see it's on special currently:

Love using mine. Makes great coffee, it's easy to use and makes micro foam super easy.

That certainly is a special price...

Wait for Black Friday rather.

I bought this for my machine. Almost never buy the Dolce Gusto ones. The regular pods are cheaper and far more variety

This looks worthwhile

I have this but find that the pods "burst" some of the times and messes water all over.

I would prefer the DG ones, I bought some pods in Spain but those are close to finish.

I like the Americano pods, bought some Lungo pods in Spain and that was very good.

Do these pods taste THAT much better than instant coffee?
Imo instant coffee as an espresso or even just black is pretty kak & watery. These pods make for a much better espresso/black. That said they've got a distinct taste that I'm not a fan of.

I used to drink the Americano and Lungo decaf mostly. Both very nice. Never liked any of the alternative brands - only Nescafe.

I just find the Dolce Gusto machine perfect for my needs, I don't need a fancy bean to cup machine, I like my DC coffee.
The thing about the DG is it's very affordable. I also used to use the refillable pods and buy Illy ground espresso from Woolies and use a scoop of that. Makes a fantastic Americano.

NB. It's really important to get ground espresso or espresso beans for a machine like the DG. Regular ground is not roasted enough and usually a coarser ground and for slow percolation rather than espresso which is a quick process done under pressure.
