Re: Domain Names

Some web hosting co's especially the smaller ones and HETZNER (whom I hate) have this policy of being sticky when customer decides to move elsewhere. One of my domains which I have had since 2003, it was a mission to get that thing released. Eventually after a MONTH of fighting with the hosting co, got it released and now am hosting it on my own equipment.

IMHO the practice of some webhosts is just WRONG

I could not agree more, as i have had many clients complaining / needing help to get their own back. the domains i register, the owner is the owner is the owner. i am the one receiving the invoices and for all administrative issues.
a case in point a client moved away from iface, a year later there was a change request to move domain back to them. strange, queried with owner and she knew nothing about it. so i denied the update. a domain name is not only about registration but Management also.
