... btw how many 100% black charities do you know of?
They don't donate for the BEE points, they donate for the tax write off.
No - but I won't donate to a charity that will only help one race. i.e. charities setup with the sole purpose of supporting BEE companies.

Johannesburg - A Pretoria orphanage says it is no longer getting financial support from large companies as 70% of the children in its care are white.
Elzane van der Merwe of the Jacaranda children’s home said: “The only answer that the children’s home is getting is: ‘Sorry, you don’t meet the criteria for 100% black economic empowerment (BEE),” reported Beeld.
But Van der Merwe said the children’s home couldn’t choose which children to take in.
“To us a child is a child. We don’t discriminate. Here we have 250 children between 18 months and 18 years that need care, regardless of race or gender.”
Apologies for resurrecting the thread, but it seems that companies are already reacting to the change in policy.

.Dti withdraws change to BEE codes
Friday, 30 November 2012
The Department of Trade and Industry has withdrawn proposed changes to the Broad - Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) codes on socio-economic development.
"The dti announces the withdrawal of Statement 500 of gazette number 35754 issued on 5 October 2012- Revised Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Codes of Good Practice," it said on Wednesday.
The decision came after several stakeholders expressed concern that Statement 500 has been interpreted to mean that charities will be adversely affected, which resulted in rising anxiety for charity and beneficiary organisations.
"The fact that the dti announced previously that the department will correct any unintended interpretation upon completion of the public consultation period, has not eased this anxiety," the department said.
The consultation period closes on Wednesday, 5 December 2012.
"The department therefore concluded that withdrawing the Statement immediately would be the most appropriate response. In practice this means no change to the socio economic developments elements," it added.
Previously the department had clarified media reports that Statement 500 could ruin charities. Media had reported that charities could face ruin over a government proposal that firms could lose BEE points if they donate to charities that do not have 100% black beneficiaries.
Reports were that some charities believe the proposal means that any firm that donates to a charity that helps a white, coloured or Indian person may not be able to claim points for its BEE scorecard.
I used to give money every month to an old ANC war veteran every month for the AIDS children he was looking after. Regularly in excess of R200, depending on what I had in my wallet. Sometimes he had the children in tow after a visit to the doctor.
They can effing forget it now, and when they ask me why, I'll tell them that THEIR effing government is making an issue of differentiating children on the basis of race, children that did nothing to anyone!
It's not his fault either and now the children suffer.

She said that even though the department of trade and industry had withdrawn the new suggested BEE codes, welfare organisations countrywide were still affected.
The suggested codes award points to companies for their BEE programmes and donations.
She said their income had dropped drastically due to the BEE codes, even though there was an increase in the children that needed care.
The home only looks after children placed in its care by court order.
