drinking a coke and eating an ice cream are not really comparable though
 
Smart . . driver had to go and make things worse for himself by snatching the cops keys.
He believed it was a personal attack as he owned a garden service company and one of his clients rented a house from the policeman.

Depends - if the guy was swerving while he was munching on his ice cream the guy deserved to be pulled over. If he'd pulled the snatching the car keys from a cruiser stunt in the states he would have been chewing pavement.
 
But .. "he may not drive without his drivers license" was his argument.

The law clearly states that you will obey the traffic officer as rule number one.

This bloke has zero case, he should be charged with theft and obstructing the means of justice as well.
 
If I were him I would take this matter to the Constitutional Court.... Eating Ice Cream while driving would be easy... I used to deliver pizza for butlers in CPT and I can tell you that its much harder to eat pizza while driving. If they want to bad eating in cars while driving i suggest that they ban only the eating of certain classes of food products.

Does a Police Officer qualify as a traffic officer ?
 
This sounds very dicy. What is the chance that the one policeman who rented a house to his client is the same one who stops him for eating an ice cream? I have eaten burgers while driving, just talk to any travelling salesman and they would have done at least the same.

Why would the guy pull over his tenant's gardener? Now that doesnt make sense.
 
How this got media attention I don't know! Why would you want to grab the keys from a cop car?! This dude just sounds like he is full of cr@p.
 
It's just plain fishy. I think they were both wrong. The cop for not giving the driver his license and the driver for taking the keys. Maybe they have personal isues with each other what we don't know about.
