Hi all

Well this is just my opinion what you can follow or not.

If you phone the number everyday and regardless if you are a doctor, student, housewife or anyone for that matter, they promise you they will "log the call and order it as urgent".

So it jumps up to the "urgent pile".

For example you are number 34 in the urgent pile. (Out of 34, because you were added last)

(So from yesterday you went from nr.34 to let say nr.15). But now behind your number there is 50 other "important orders"

If you phone them again, they will escalate your order again, falling back into line under "important". So from nr.15 in line you go back and are number 65. (Remember the other 50 people that phoned and were placed under "important" from yesterday to today.)

Someone in telkom told me that I did the test myself.

I phone 2 times a day for 5 days – no call

I left it and after 2 days I received a call

I phoned again for 2 weeks everyday and no one called or had an answer

I left it and after 1-2 days they phoned me.

My advice could only be – nag on them but not too much

Hmm I phoned every day for 2 weeks and no one phoned.... Maybe you have a very good point

i wonder how many people they connect per day, especially the self install guys(which I am)

So that's what I've been doing wrong...my call has been 'escalated' three times in the last week, which implies I must be number 1.4e3 in the queue.

Oh, and if you phone 0800 375 375 you can be guaranteed to have to hold for at least 10 minutes. I made three calls this week - 1st one 10 minutes, 2nd one 13 minutes, last one 12 minutes before someone answered.

In the mornings it is quite quick. Under 5 mins, but that before 10am. :p

But I can confirm, its true - don't phone them every day. :D

I can definitely say the callback thing DOES NOT work. I wanted to help my friend get ADSL like 5 months back when I selected the Call me back option (is it still there?) and needless to say I haven't received a call from Telkom for 5months counting. :D Maybe I'm still in the "Callback" queue...

Call back??? Not what I know about...

Hmmm, I've had decent luck with the callback option - the last time I used it, I selected "13h00" for my callback time and at the stroke of 1, they called. Odd, really.

I have, however, not had any luck in getting them to call me back on my latest issue - and I haven't harassed them for days.

I recently had the biggest crap from telkom.

0800 375 375 is A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Here is what I did yo solve the problem.

After 3 weeks of 3 calls a day min to try and get them to act I finally called Customer Care. No : 0800 600 126

I then lodged a "High Level Complaint". It was fixed within 2 days and got calls to notify my of all progress made.

I will never call 0800 375 375 again.... or call it and emediately after I logged the fault just call Customer Care anyway.

Use 0800375375

Log your problem
get your ref number
Log on hellopeter
you will be called and if you are as fortunate as I was, your problem will be solved.
Be persistent, be polite (very difficult), and you will get what you want.
there are a few good people trying to fix too many problems.
Get lucky, get a good technician, get success.
