Consider the line drawn. Please report it when you see it. Thanks so much. :)
Me - I'm no grass mate ;)

On occasion I've been tempted to report my own post as bad but have had to resort to asking someone else to do it for me - no button

Then report it when you see it in future please. :)

Well, I don't have anything against it personally, and most of the time I'm interested to know what others are selling their goods for, so I don't see how it could hurt really.

Because simply MyADSL members got scammed and they reported it here. Something that I for one appreciate as I could have been less R5000,00 and no 7900GT's Now I have some cards to brag about. Now I Sincerely thank those who highlighted these problems to warn us. Its not Unlike the Telkom scam we always are warned about here!

SO THANKS! I saved R5000.00
And thanks for the moderators for allowing this warnings
And thanks to the ANC for allowing "anyone" to conduct business
And thanks to Penny and ...........

What I meant was that I don't see the harm in making it public knowledge what you selling certain products for, I mean purely from my perspective, when someone says something like "Okay, PM me the prices please" I always feel kinda interested as to what they would be, and would prefer it just to be posted in clear sight of everyone just to save the trouble of everyone who is interested, having to PM someone.

Obviously from my posts in the other 'wtf' thread, I'm totally against the bs of how certain ppl have been treated business-wise on this forum and something must be done.

The forum isnt here to make it easy for them to do business. If you want a price ask em but thread after thread of prices is a waste IMO. Nothing stopping them from paying for banners.

Fully Agreed, I never advertised or tried to do business from here. I must be mad! Anyway I agree some blatant advertising or spamming will kill this forum and banners must rather be purchased for that. AD Hoc advise and reference to help forumites to save costs is in order as was the case most of the time! Only there is no place for schemers and I feel the fact that it was raised and exposed in OK! Its in the benefit of the forumites! Direct threats and personal reference or attacks is as the Mods concluded also not on. So lets agree and stick to that. Person had a chance to correct the problem, He Blew it! Now all we can do is offer constructive advise and let the thing play out its course. Feedback is important too! For one many here stated that they want to see an outcome. For persons sake too, many still supported him and his responses let them down too!

Hey, how about selling the right to post a single thread about your product or services or business and the right to then post prices of products if requested for a certain amount of time.

Just a random idea.

Sorry, but to me it would seem the only flying to be done by anyone is to, well, we like to say in Afrikaans: "Vlieg in jou m0er in" :D

ic, regarding closing of the thread- I have just read through all the thread, including the entire 2 other threads that were linked to, and the two threads that came after it. This has taken me a good few hours.....though I did take a break to go to the shops to get snacks (pork crackling, Inside Storey, Halls).

Anyway, my point is that I have read what I think is everything on this issue, and having done so I urge you to reopen it. The situation was progressing - which is why so many posts were made in the thread over such a short time. Will person refund incubate? Will he refund the Yak? Will he refund the skullholzer dude from the pcbuyersguide forums? Or will he continue dipping and diving?

Surely it is in the entire MyADSL community's best interest to know what comes of this, and how it comes to an end? Don't we deserve to see what happens so we make make up our minds about whether to buy from person or not?

If person refunds, apologises and makes amends, doesn't he deserve to have the MyADSL community's know this?

On the other hand, if person continues in the manner in which he has and doesn't refund, apologise and make amends, then don't WE deserve to know about this?

There is nothing wrong with naming and shaming companies and individuals who screw their customers. In fact, we should have more of it in SA, because such 'airing of dirty laundry' in public is one thing that keeps certain companies in check.

Please consider re-opening that thread. The topic will just continue on in numerous other threads otherwise anyway, cos if I had beed screwed a simple thread closing wouldn't shut me up!

If there's no badmouthing wtf is the point? He, and anyone who behaves like he does in business relations absolutely deserves badmouthing.

I agree, it'll just degenerate into spam, but I don't see any problem myself with a business responding to someone who is genuinely looking for a place to buy a particular thing.

I suppose it would be possible for scaly businesses to pose as a customer simply to make it possible for the business to advertise itself, but agh, wtf any system has it's flaws.

Overall, I think things are fine as they were, as long as we're able to badmouth and spread bad publicity when things go bad.

So many constructive posts :)

I haven't heard anything more from incubate as to whether the refund has been given or if anything has been resolved. Hopefully I'll hear from him tomorrow and others in the same boat can perhaps use this as precedent?

As far as I see, the mods are right on the money so to speak :D I don't think MyADSL has ever been about advertising (Although I'm sure it helps) and extra adverts would start to detract from the actual purpose of these forums.

I don't object to Brian personally (some of his posts have been insightful and quite good) but rather the practices pointed out by people. Hope things get sorted out.

To be fair, it hasn't simply been practises pointed out by people, many of us witnessed his blatant disregard for his customers in the recent thread.

It seems hell has no fury like a MyAdsl forumite scourned :D

But seriously I'll be very suspicious of any "new" online pc retailers starting up in the next month or two... especially if they are based in wynberg cape town.
