Yeah, you're more than likely right.... Still doesn't mean I'd like to beat him senseless with a baseball bat tho

Hehe - and I wondered about your nick? rofl

@ Antithesis: You are correct, best bet is for members to be vigilant, and asking around for references, especially on various forii (hehe) before they lay down hard-earned cash - bad publicity do the rounds rather quickly.

So yeah, visit wherever you can, if it means saving you R1k or R2k it was worth the effort - that's what I do, and over a period of time you get to know who the good, and the bad guys are.

I mentioned a few very reliable local (jhb) guys before, they are reliable, have excellent service levels, and a good amount of knowledge on what they are selling you.

Enjoy.

Well, whether I "win" or not, I'm still opening the case. For all my effort I would have at least put a blemish on his name.

I'll take it as far as my sanity allows me...

MrBean: I have a promise from Brian that I would be refunded because of the inconvenience that was caused... maybe I don't have a leg to stand on, and if not, I'll do anything in my power to make sure that NOONE EVER buys from this man again!!!

He's a lying, deceiving CROOK that mirepresents himself as a 3000 employee strong international company - that alone should get him into massive amounts of trouble!

Brian, in case you were wondering, I'm not slandering you, that's a FACT! I might not get my money out of you, but I'll make sure that I ruin what's left of your reputation as much as I can possibly do!

This makes me SICK!

Problem is, if people don't actually do anything Brian is completely free to rejoin this forum as something like PoleCat and register the domain http://www.computersdot.co.za and start all over again.

I know we've called for folks to do something or at least pool all their information before but if anyone still wants to, now is a good time :)

True, but:
1) He used his real "brick and mortar" name on this site
2) He used his real address
3) He used his private bank account for deposits

Come on Moederloos... You know as well as I do that a guy who pulls in almost R2bn a year can change all his details :D

Try SARS first, TheYak, you don't have a chance in court. Get some advice from a lawyer, I guarantee they'll advise you to forget about it.

i think sars is your best bet right now

you have his details go and report him

trust me sars takes fraud very seriously, where as a cop might look blankly at you and ask you to repeat yourself 5 times

Have to agree on the law issue. The effort and expense involved way exceeds the monetary value. If it is pure and simple revenge, SARS, BSA etc will be more fruitful.

@yak

You all have being going on and on.
Yak, did you find a lift to the police or not yet?
It is now 17.27. Keep us informed!

Hello kiddies...

I got home, wanting to gather more information on our favourite Person (telephone numbers, addresses etc) before heading out to my friendly neighbourhood police station, when I got an interesting surprise...

I was doing a quick internet transfer to pay my ADSL when I noticed a credit on my account on the FOURTEENTH (yes! FIVE days ago!!!) of this month from DOT Computers!!!

Now I ask you with tears in my baby blue eyes - why the HELL didn't you contact me to let me know that you had made the payment, Brian!?!

Argh! I'm really starting to think that you LIKE being in trouble! ftw?!

Anyway... I don't really have a leg to stand on anymore now... I could put up a fuss about the card not being swopped out, but like many of you have mentioned - I was given all the necessary information to get it done myself.

So, I might be calling on some of those favours that were offered in getting the card replaced.

I'll also help out anyone else in there endevour to get their nonsense with DOT sorted out - just give me a shout if you need any info etc.

Ugh... now to get the card swopped out, 'cos playing F.E.A.R on this cr@ppy 5700 is... well... cr@p...

TheYak, if you went to the police station with this they would've laughed at you anyway. I suppose now that you've got the money you're gonna forget about the whole thing? i.e. Not investigate his tax situation.

I'd still take him to BSA / SARS - just to make his life hell... Payback's a biatch, we all know that saying... Did you get interest on your money? :)

Got to love MyADSL. We all sit around telling each other to report him to SARS, but nobody actually does!

Glad you got your refund TheYak. incubate got his too, correct?

Is there is no one else on this forum who is in need of a refund? If not, then I suggest Person be banned and this thread be closed now. The info on Person / Brian Gibello / DotIt / DotComputers of Cape Town will remain on the internet, and Brian Gibello antics and dishonesty will continue to plague him indefinitely. The info is also all there should anyone actually take initiative and report him to SARS or any relevent authority.

I think the thread has run it's course now (my personal opinion - perhaps I am wrong), and further energies and efforts are wasteful and could be spent doing more fruitful things. The objectives of getting the refunds have been acheived, almost certainly due to the MyADSL community. What more is there to say? Nothing IMHO.

Use it/don't use it.
