Dota 2

I admit - SA community is the worst. Guys seem like they are out just to annoy other people. I ignore mostly, but sometimes it just gets too much then I have a go back.

Usually end up playing against a 5 stack who think they are Dota gods because their coordination is obviously much higher than 5 randoms. THAT irks me massively. Then they start hurling insults because there is not much ado about nothing. Base raping etc... Not my type of opposition.

Best thing is to 5 stack yourself and enjoy the game for what it is. If you lose, you lose.

What I do is play a game. If there is anyone good on my team, I steam friend and join their party. Rarely have feeders because of it.

Also, most parties allow you to join, since they also find it better to have guaranteed non-feeder.

Have encountered this already... Although I am still new at Dota 2 I played HON for years and was a 1900 MMR player. I find the players I am currently playing with and against are painfully under skilled, hoping when I unlock MMR I will find higher skilled players.

Yeah, that doesn't last long. Am lvl 14 profile, get paired against people profile lvl 200+, game seems to think one news team with one player with 800+ level will carry the entire team against an enemy team with average level of 300.

I'm level 7 at the moment, only manged 15 or so far. I am enjoying it though.

My only gripe is that I much prefer HON's take on some of the heroes. Axe, Treant, etc.

Tried playing a Ranked Game on Saturday night via SA Server for the first time, took 45 minutes to find a game lol, won't be doing that again.

Haven't played on the EU West server yet, will give it a go after reading all the positive comments.

I play Dota because I like the game, not because I'm extremely good at it, unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case for a lot of players as verbal abuse is a common occurrence.

Most of the time I will play support heroes, warding being my main concern and giving all creeps to whomever is laning with me, but irks me when people start tuning you that you have no items 20 minutes into the game.

In the games I have played everyone wants to be a carry... So its good to see some people still play support :)

Best thing then for you isn't to play ranked just yet.

1. You can search multiple regions at the same time. So you can have ZA and EU West both selected and whichever gets a game first you'll connect to.
2. If you're just playing for fun don't play ranked. Normal all pick is ok, but best to play modes like all random or Ability Draft. In those modes the people are a lot less serious.

Bwahahaha, I remember not long ago a guy asked me that while playing ranked. Everyone laughed at him, made my day. Best thing to do about griefers and blamers is to just mute them and concentrate on your game.

I've only played one ranked game, went rather well, mostly due to me playing support carry, which I only do when my team picks odd counters.

The moaning and constant in-fighting is with normal games, but it's like what someone else mentioned, the balance between players of higher and lower levels isn't working, at least not on the SA Server. I'm guessing it's better on EU West?

The reason people don't play support anymore is because they get no recognition for what they do in-game, rather sad

I had a game last night where it was 5 buddies against randoms. We were all like "*** we're going to get raped." Game turned out fairly even, and in the end we just snowballed and smashed them.

It did help that the guys on my team were all polite and nice actually. And in my experience, it's the Afrikaans guys who tend to be the most angry and flame the most. I don't know why :/

**** you ******* why the **** do you generalize like that *******.... :p

Just kidding. I usually don't get involved unless the guy really starts annoying me then I will have my say and mute him.

@deadman - add me on steam and we can party up. Should find some higher skill level games (I am on level 125 with a 50% win loss).

While it's true that supports don't get recogniion I don't think that's the reason people don't play support.

They all want to be Dendi/RTZ/SingSing.

90% of the games I play where people call mid they fail miserably.

Wow how many hours does it take to get to lvl 125?

I don't think I'm even at level 50 yet.

Dota is far more pleasant when you play with friends. Some of these okes take it far too seriously. Have a bad game, or you are new to the game, and unfortunately some people will insult you and clal for others to report you (which is NOT what the report function is for).
