Thinking I might dump afrihost. Yesterday the last game we played together, I lagged out the last few seconds as we killed the ancient. At least my compendium hero counts as completed, but I don't think I got any xp for the game. I was there for 99.9% of the time. It isn't the first time this happened to me either.

That sucks man. I normally play on Afrihost Mobile and have zero issues, my adsl is terrible for dota for some reason...

I okay on the same MTN bandwidth and dont have the same hassles... but then I have a 200GB capped account so its unshaped all the time.

Had this terrible game so trying to diagnose the issues.
Started off with:
Top: Viper+Gyro VS Weaver+Venge
Mid: Luna VS Ember
Bot: Brood+Veno VS Doom+SK but with doom then jungling

I think we did ok top with weaver/venge only achieving 5-3 and 5-2.
I think Luna should have levelled lucent beam.
Doom was kinda allowed to jungle freely but this had more impact in that sand king levelled a LOT initially because he'd just disappear with sand storm when he got low

Obviously Ember got fed a bit initially and then it was gg with 33-1 :/ (I managed to get that 1)

1) You had little to no real support. Veno was all you had while they had SK and Venge. Choosing a big pile of late game carries is usually a sure way to lose the game. One support can't do it all alone. You need wards and you need detection with the SK for that you should have at least 2 supports.

2) It shouldn't be a case of Sand King being able to just disappear when he uses Sand Storm. Buy Dust of Appearance against a Sand King (your not having dust is likely a symptom of not having enough support or of having poor support, another is that you don't have enough observer wards up).

3) If your Broodmother player is good enough (and the opponents bad enough - no sentry wards :p) you can actually let her solo. Those spiders push like crazy as long as the hero she is up against doesn't have an AoE ability to shut the spiders down. That would have allowed you to tri-lane and shut the weaver down early.

4) it is a good idea to go into their jungle early on and ward their creep camps. Warding creep camps stops creeps from spawning. This stops Doom being able to jungle and he is forced to join a lane (after of course wandering for trying to figure out why the creeps aren't spawning because nobody in pub matches wards creep camps all the while falling behind on xp and gold lol). When the wards expire go in and ward again to keep Doom in lane and underfarmed. Without a decent amount of gold Doom becomes far less impressive. To do this you, once again, need more support heroes though as that is a big gold burden to place on a single hero.

5) you didn't have any serious disable. You had no way of stopping Ember retreating using his ult, or of preventing SK from burrowing or blinking away or weaver skooching (or whatever it is called :p) away. They could escape almost at will.

Just off the top of my head. Would perhaps be able to suggest more if I watched the replay.

5) Luna's Lucent beam must be maxed out early in the game because her ulti depends on it. Here was my match now with her.


Guy, use builds, it helps a lot.
