Yea stops things like Tiny's toss, IO tether, KOTL call, etc.
So if their is a troll on your team this will help.

We played them last night and with me having between 1000 - 2000 ping and a standin we still managed to do really well
Anyone know how to go about selecting a specific Dota 2 SA server?
Afaik there are 3 in total, listed below:
cpt-1.valve.net - South Africa 1 (Cape Town)
197.80.200.1 - South Africa 2 (Cape Town)
196.38.180.1 - South Africa 3 (Johannesburg)
My main goal is to try and get better ping, as I've tried various ISPs capped accounts already, best result being 96ms, which is not even remotely good.

You happen to be on Afrihost?
Have you tried Webafrica yet? You can signup a test account (1 gig + 1 gig) which is more than enough to run a few games of Dota)
I tried them out last night and had a ping of about 30 after Afrihost failed on me.
But if you are getting the same ping with all service providers, there might be a fault on your line, and not ISP.

Just moved and my line hasn't been moved yet so tried playing on hsdpa last night.
Ye bro WA provides the best experience thus far at 96ms, even tried normal capped and business capped with them.
For now, I'm going to ping the 3 servers tonight manually to see what the results are, from there I should be able to see if it's line related or not?
