Hi all,

Can someone help me please? I have installed Warcraft 3 and downloaded latest patch. 1.24.

I downloaded the latest 6.59 AI map for Dota but cannot get it working. Any ideas?
 
You also may want to use the latest map - 6.61c. Apparently there are inconsistencies with the maps and the new 1.24 patch, only one at this moment is working correctly, IIRC, which would then be 6.61c.

There's an article on it posted on the www.getdota.com site... (where you'll also be able to download the map from)

there is also a thread dedicated to HoN Beta Keys (Gaming section), which some forum members give away. the client is 220MB to download.

take my advise, and look into this. move over DotA! :D
 
Go to www.war3.co.za and read up on their forums. Its quite tricky to get battle.net to work but its all explained in their forums.
 
Lol at all these HoN fanbois. The game may look great, but the gameplay is terrible.
@OP: You are not supposed to patch to 1.24 yet.
 
HoN? Wasn't it supposed to be League of Legends or something like that?
 
I’ve been playing DotA for about a year now and HoN really does mop the floor with it. The game play is smooth and just like the Dota we know, but it looks better, sounds better, has better stat track and dc recover time. I still log on to battle net for a Dota game but if I had to pick between them I’ll go HoN most of our Dota clan and some friends feel the same only thing holding them back is the cap it munches, but the SA server is soon to be opened (I hope) but till then Go Dota :p
 
Some of the things that makes DotA so popular is everyone can copy and paste the directory and run it. Basically its pretty simple, easy to pirate and low on bandwidth. This makes it easy to share and play at LANs and therefore a popular game at them.

I dont see this making that much of a dent in the DotA population.
 
People that say HoN only has better graphics with worse gameplay is totally clueless. HoN wins both in the graphics and gameplay department.
I have virtually no international cap left, a lot of local though and I just can't seem to play dota anymore without falling asleep.

6.61 made dota suprisingly a lot less enjoyable. Games drag in a lot longer than they should.
I kinda blame the introduction of some of the new items.

HoN is based on 6.59d which is what I consider the best of all the Dota versions to date. I see S2 is only implementing the good and logical changes that came with 6.60+.

Maybe dota needs a few more iterations before it can surpass 6.59d version again, but atm HoN feels more like Dota than Dota atm
