Double instalation charge?

I’ve got a quick question. Maybe one of u guys can help me with this.

I had ADSL 384 last year. I canceled it in October and now I want to reconnect it.
The problem is that Telkom wants to charge me R350 for a new line installation and also R400 for the new DSL installation.
I’m just wondering if this is right seeing as there is no need for anyone to actually come to my house. All the wiring is exactly like it was last year.
Cant they just switch it on at the exchange? Sigh.

Yes, Telkom does operate that way.

Opt for a self install if you can.

Self-install should save you the installation charge (and score you a free modem)

Faultline- tell them you want to self install [if you know how to.].
That'll save you the R400 odd for installation fee's.
